This module introduces students to the use of graphics software for creating, editing and saving pictures, by giving them the skills to choose and use a number of simple graphical tools. Students will learn how to draw and modify simple pictures or patterns, using a combination of lines, simple shapes and fill tools: they will learn to select colours, shapes and line widths from a simple tool palette. They will use select, cut, copy, paste and undo commands to modify their work, and will save the finished picture.
In addition to the pass criteria, students should be able to edit substantially the original given picture, by selecting a particular object and either deleting it entirely (restoring the background), or copying and pasting it elsewhere in the picture.
The important thing is to demonstrate that the student has been able to save with a new filename.
At the end of this course, student will take the ICT Starters Assessment of Initial Steps Stage 1 Module 2 : Starting Images.
Cambridge Certification is available at TWO stages.
